Mission: The Rising Star Collaborative Coalition, along with partnerships; seeks to amend and solve the dramatic societal change and shift in education, literacy, health and wellness, the arts, humanities, media, STEM/ technology, community service, entrepreneurship, social and economic development for the growth and sustainability of youths in disadvantaged inner city and urban communities
Results: In 2015 thru 2017 tutors were brought in to assist 2nd-6th graders with academic tutoring, STAAR Prep, and the After-school component (e.g. critical thinking activities, mentoring, health & wellness, etiquette, community and parent workshops & etc). Our success: Students started the 1st semester with C's, D's & F's and ended up on A/B or All A's Honor Roll during the remaining school semesters. All 5th graders either received academic excellence on STAAR or scores in the 1560-1600's. 3rd and 4th graders also excelled on STAAR. Several students also placed in the Science Fair.
