Mission: The rainbow project provides restorative healing and hope for young children and their families who have experienced trauma, building a foundation for the mastery of life sustaining skills.
Programs: Early intervention and treatment services is a unique program that includes a comprehensive, individualized service model providing assessment, referral, advocacy, play therapy, parent education, individual and family therapy, in-home services, and consultation. In 2017, more than 5,000 direct hours of service were provided and over 400 new referrals were received. The populations served are young children (primarily infants through 10 years of age) and their families who have experienced trauma including child abuse (physical, sexual, and psychological), neglect, domestic violence, grief/loss, serious accidents, behavioral health challenges, and other stressors. Treatment approaches are evidence-informed or evidence-based. The rainbow project's staff are also on call and available to families in crisis through our rapid response program.
spanish speaking combines de mujer a mujer and yo soy, yo soy unica. De mujer a mujer is a weekly support and education group for latina women, with focus on promoting family and personal enhancement for participants dealing with depression, anxiety and relationship challenges with their children and/or spouses. Yo soy, yo soy unica is a series of workshops for latina girls and their caregivers focusing on self-esteem, culture, stress management and communication. In 2017 over 300 hours of service were provided by rainbow project staff to this program.
face is a multi-agency collaboration that provides groups for children and youth in dane county. Groups are held in the community, schools, child care settings, and in the office. Groups focus on building positive social skills, self-esteem, anger and stress management, problem solving skills, and affective development. In 2017 over 550 hours of service were provided by the rainbow project's staff to this program.
