Mission: To promote education in bike safety and academia, through hands-on learning
Results: This past year, we accomplished the following: * March-May: We held our first two field trips with high school students, in partnership with MIT Amphibious Achievement * April: Joined Bike Awareness Day event at MIT, promoting PN2K and bike safety in the community * May: Partnered with the CCG Foundation to give away free bike lights to cyclists passing by with missing/broken lights. * May: We gave away our first $500 Phyo Achievement Award scholarship * May: We founded MIT PN2K, ASA-approved, MIT-funded student group * end of May: filed Form 1023 for 501(c)(3) status * end of June: received 501(c)(3) status from IRS so all donations are tax-exempt * July-Aug: Organized MIT Bike Fest 2014, in partnership with MIT GSC Sustainability Subcommittee * Sep 7th: ran a very successful Bike Fest event, including raffle prizes, community partners and MIT funding, Hubway-sponsored bike treasure hunt, and bike safety information.
