Mission: The Peace Alliance is a nonpartisan citizen action organizationrepresenting a growing constituency for peace. A 501(c)4 organizationestablished in March 2004, our mission is to empower civic activism for aculture of peace. Our vision is a future in which the practicalprograms and principles of peacebuilding are the bedrock of ourpersonal, national and global interest and investment. Our goal is totake the field of peacebuilding from the margins of the political andsocietal dialogue and bring it to its rightful place: Central to ourpolicymaking, investment and understanding. We achieve this primarilythrough a massive public education, outreach and citizen lobbyingeffort. Our current focus is the campaign for a cabinet-level U.S.Department of Peace and the Youth PROMISE Act. By empowering citizens to advocate for peace, we create a ripple effect throughout society, expanding the understanding of the efficacy and value of peacebuilding as well as engaging citizens in becoming active in the political process. As a result, peace becomes a national goal to which we aspire and a skill that we can all attain.
Programs: We are an alliance of organizers and advocates throughout the United States taking the work of peacebuilding from the margins of society into the centers of national discourse and policy priorities. Our network includes volunteer grassroots teams in hundreds of cities, towns, colleges and high school campuses. We train and empower this network to advocate for evidence-based legislation and policy that will enhance our capacity to reduce violence and build sustainable peace both domestically and internationally.

I have been receiving updates and information about The Peace Alliance for years! Bought a stack of The Peace Book through them years back to give away as gifts, and also have ordered holiday cards from them many years now too. First learned about restorative justice through them! First class organization. I used to dream of working in DC once a cabinet level Dept. of Peace was established!❤️

You get a big payback for your participation and contribution to our organization. 99% of your dollars goes to outreach and education about nonviolence and peace legislation and initiatives. We have minimal administrative costs since we now work vitually and have no office costs.
