Mission: Created by the widow of the organization's namesame, who was victim of the Sept. 11 attacks in NYC, the Foundation's goal is to enable families that have experienced a tragic loss to focus upon grieving in the days and weeks following tragedy, primarily by helping allay the anxiety engendered by short-term financial concerns. The foundation provides applicants with need-based grants, as well as access to grief counseling and fee-free legal and financial professionals who have committed to assist the Foundation's beneficiaries.
