Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services
Mission: The Hero Workshop is here to provide youth with a safe, fun place to gather together to play tabletop role playing games. We believe that the benefits of playing tabletop games are manifold. We are excited to introduce new heroes to the hobby and provide high quality narrative experiences for newcomers and veteran players alike. The Hero Workshop is dedicated to creating an inclusive and engaged community around our shared hobby.
Target demographics: Heroes age 8 and up
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 200 kids, with 170 coming to a weekly game at our community center and we meet an additional 60 kids at their schools.
Geographic areas served: Culver City, CA
Programs: Organizing and running tabletop role playing games (like Dungeons and Dragons) for kids age 8 and up. These social, interactive storytelling experiences are providing an opportunity for heroes to develop stronger social skills, get some crucial math practice, and join a community of people who love to tell stories.
