Mission: The Garment League's Mission To empower underserved communities through continued fashion education, workforce development, and industry trade skills. We strive to cultivate creativity, foster innovation, and provide access to resources and opportunities in the fashion industry for youth and adults. By offering professional training and mentorship, we aim to build a diverse and inclusive fashion ecosystem that supports personal growth, economic advancement, and community enrichment.
Results: 1. Fashion Industry Youth Initiative (FIYI): The program has successfully served underserved youth, primarily from Black and Brown communities, providing them with access to STEM education through fashion, skilled industry trades, and real workforce development. This initiative has equipped numerous youth with valuable skills and knowledge, creating pathways for future success in the fashion industry. 2. Phoenix Swim Week: The Garment League has hosted three annual Phoenix Swim Week events, showcasing designers and models while raising funds to support youth fashion education programs. These events have gained recognition, with the 2024 event featuring 14 designers and 100 models, and attendance from prominent figures like Mayor Gallego. 3. Sponsorship Growth: The Garment League has actively pursued sponsorships to fund their programs. These sponsorships have allowed them to provide quality supplies and materials for their educational initiatives, helping to elevate the learning experience for students. 4. Expansion of Resources: Through sponsorships and other funding efforts, The Garment League has expanded its fashion resource library, adding additional books and software to support educational programming. 5. Event Organizing Success: The Garment League’s event organizing company continues to handle high-production fashion shows, corporate events, and galas, further establishing itself as a trusted name in event planning and production. 6. Community Impact: The Garment League's efforts have contributed to the personal and professional development of youth and adults in the community, fostering a sense of pride, creativity, and economic empowerment among participants. 7. Strategic Partnerships: The organization has built strong partnerships with local businesses and influencers, leveraging these relationships to further their mission and increase their impact in the community.
