Mission: The dream program builds communities of families and college students that empower children from affordable housing neighborhoods to recognize their options, make informed decisions, and achieve their dreams.
Programs: School-year programs: the dream program provided "village mentoring" services to over 300 youth who live in affordable housing communities across vermont, boston and philadelphia. This includes a weekly mentoring program between college student mentors and youth ages 5 to 18 as well as year end trips and community events.
summer programs: the dream program provided summer enrichment opportunities to over 400 youth who live in affordable housing communities in vermont, boston, and philadelphia. This included on-site activities such as arts and crafts, games, and tutoring and small trips to local educational and recreational venues. These activities were led by a cadre of dream summer interns, americorps members, and part-time staff members.
camp dream: the dream program provided camp dream, a summer residential camp experience to over 100 youth from vermont and boston. Activities included hiking, swimming, gardening, environmental education and other healthy activities. These activities were provided by dream americorps members as well as staff and volunteers.
