Mission: The Children''s Home of Pittsburgh, established in 1893, is an independent, non-profit licensed organization that promotes the health and well-being of infants and children through services which establish and strengthen the family.
Results: Adoption has placed more than 7,000 infants; Child’s Way has served more than 160 children and their families; T.I.C. has treated more than 2,600 infants; the Transitional Pediatric Care is a brand new unit.
Target demographics: Adoption Program: Birthparent(s), Adoptive Parent(s), Foster Families; Child’s Way: the parents of medically fragile and technology dependent children can bring their birth to 8 year old child to Child’s Way for daytime services; Peditatric Specialty Hospital with 2 units - Transitional Infant Care (T.I.C.) bridges the gap in care between a tradional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and an infant’s discharge to home and Transitional Pediatric Care, infants and children will receive therapy, medical care, educational opportunities and nursing supervision and at night they can stay within the facility at a unit near the T.I.C. unit.
