This organization sets the standard for trauma-informed child services. As a foster parent, adoptive parent, and abuse survivor, I can attest to their services in all those areas and see the significance of their service even beyond West Texas. As a social worker, it is apparent that other advocacy centers around the state turn to this CAC Greater West Texas for guidance and program development. Also, they serve a vast rural area known to have fewer resources, posing additional challenges that this organization swiftly overcomes.

Most of the $1,000,000 budget is spent on staff salaries over actual services. Wasteful spending by board members and staff. Poor leadership even after previous ED was convicted of embezzling thousands of dollars for many years. Poor oversight by board members in management of funds. Organization spends more money planning and creating glamorous fundraising events instead of providing concrete services to children. Most of the staff are under-educated and lack experience in child abuse.
