Mission: The brooklyn nursing partnership, inc. ("bnp") was formed to (i)increase the capacity of brooklyn's nursing educational instiutions to recruit and educate students from brooklyn's low-income, minority populations, (ii)reduce the shortage of qualified, culturally-competent, culturally-diverse registered nurses in brooklyn hospitals and develop a nursing workforce that reflects the cultural and economic diversity of the communities they serve, (iii)provide education on current and emerging healthcare issues affecting the delivery of healthcare services, and (iv)increase the awareness of brooklyn nursing careers among brooklyn's low-income, minority populations.
Programs: Build a registry of masters' qualified nurses, and train and match them as adjunct faculty to student nurses in nursing schools with faculty shortages in order to increase enrollment among underserved, disadvantaged populations.
