Mission: Our mission is to empower individuals with limited resources on their path to self-sufficiency through skills instruction, on-the-job training in our social enterprises and assistance with establishing a career in the food industry.
Results: We've graduated 750 trainees since 2008. Our graduates have earned $7.8 Million and counting since the start of the Great Recession. At placement, graduates' average wage consistently rank in the top 25% among Food Prep Workers/Servers and Fast Food Cooks in California.

Programs: For over 10 years The Bread Project has worked to empower individuals with limited resources on their path to self-sufficiency. We aim to train low-income individuals who face barriers to employment in the skills needed to start careers in the commercial baking and food industries. We offer two FREE training programs: • 3 Week Bakery Production Boot Camp (56 hours) • 10 Week Baking Training Program (300 hours) Our programs offer 56-300 hours of hands on training, job search and application assistance, and intensive hands on experience through our social enterprises. Individuals who graduate from our programs are eligible for entry level jobs in the food industry including packagers, production assistants, bakery/pastry assistants, bakers, and prep cooks.
