Programs: The organization holds two conservation easements and has invested in two parcels of land. One parcel was purchased in 2004 to imporve conservation and recreation for boone county residents and the second acquisition (bellevue park) was made in 2005 for reclamation improvements, with the help of public grants and donations. The organization has converted the 45 acre sand and gravel mine to its original state. The property is now being used for educational and recreational uses by the public as well as by the local schools and county agencies. The organization hired mary unterreiner as executive director on august 1, 2015 to better utilize and prioritize its resources as well as increase public awareness and support for its activities.
