Causes: Animals, Biological & Life Sciences, Protection of Endangered Species
Mission: The Biodiversity Group is an international team of wildlife biologists, educators, and photographers dedicated to preserving the smaller majority of animal life on Earth. Rooted in the science of ecology, we illuminate little known communities of animals in shrinking wild places. Our photography shares beauty, value, and scientific information to a worldwide audience through the camera-eye. And by fostering local education, we empower people with the experiences, skills, and tools to steward the rich ecosystems that surround and sustain them. Our ultimate goal is to facilitate informed management decisions by people, governments, and land preservation organizations to keep incredible biological landscapes intact for future generations.
Target demographics: overlooked species and encourage communities to preserve their local habitats through education and citizen science
Direct beneficiaries per year: educate over a 100 young and old minds in Ecuador and Vietnam through our citizen science programs and discovered several new species of amphibians.an educate their comunities.
Geographic areas served: Ecuador, Mexico, and Vietnam
Programs: fostering local citizen-science, empowering people with the experiences, skills, and tools to steward the rich ecosystems that surround and sustain them. We also conduct biodiversity surveys to help expand the public's awareness of overlooked and undescribed species. By discovering new species we can create new conservation strategies for ecosystems due to the imperiled nature of these creatures! Our work also maintains an inventory of biodiversity for future generations and natural science.
