I am on the board of the Kiwanis Club of Monroe. We sponsor the Aktion Club through the Arc of Union. I see the value in what the Arc does to make a difference in the lives of individuals they serve. I am grateful for their service to our community and enjoy the opportunity to volunteer and serve with the Aktion Club members.

My son and I are disabled. We had a chance to celebrate his 21st birthday, my birthday, and my parent's 50th anniversary. To be be able to celebrate these three occasions since three people met with death several times was important. My son and I are on limited income and to make this trip happen we would need help. We contacted the ARC after not being able to find assistance. The Arc assisted us in making this trip happen and making memories that are priceless. We will be forever grateful for their help. They have been there to assist us in other issues. As my son says, "Ms. Plue can move mountains". Thank you for being there Ms. Plue and everyone at the Arc. :-)

Melinda Plue and this organization was awesome helping me obtain everything that my child qualified for through the public school system. He has learning disabilities from a traumatic brain injury as a baby. She helped walk me through every step of the way and was there to answer all the questions that I had. He was able to get Extended School Year (which I had tried to get him in for 2 years and unable to obtain on my own) this summer and helped get him where he needs to be. His reading level has already increased by a whole year according to his 6 week review! Great organization! They really care about their clients!
