Mission: The arc of tippecanoe county, inc is a not-for-profit organization that assists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Services include: advocacy, adult recreational and friendship programs, summer youth camps, assistance with kids first, community education and awareness efforts, and support and resources for individuals and their families.
Programs: Camp sparks is a summer day camp for children with intellectual disabilities and their siblings. It provides safe and appropriate activities including arts and crafts, swimming, and field trips in the community, including bowling, visiting the zoo, and making pizza in a pizzeria.
adult programs provide opportunities for significant community integration and recreational outings. The adult recreation program centers on social and recreational activities, such as dances, bowling, and participation in special community events. Aktion club is a kiwanis club for people with intellectual disabilities and focuses on leadership training and community service. Best buddies pairs a college student with an adult with intellectual disabilities for friendship and positive social interaction.
children's programs include kids first and superstar social club. Kids first promotes understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities by performing puppet shows for children. Superstar social club is a social group for teens who meet once a month, usually on friday night, for a variety of social and recreational events.
