Mission: The American Adventure Service Corps (formerly known as Scouting Outward) is a year-round, non-profit organization aimed at addressing many of the needs of today's youth. The program utilizes "outdoor adventure education" and "service to others" as major themes to enhance: leadership development, self-esteem, a strong service ethic, physical and mental fitness, and a greater apprechiation for the natural world. The American Adventure Service Corps (TAASC) is an innovative co-ed program for ages 8 through 18. Membership is open to those youth who are motivated and committed to active participation in the weekly meetings, weekend activities, and summer expeditions. Adventure and service activities are accelerated to keep the interest of most youth for as long as 11 years. The entire TAASC model is unique and is fulfilling needs of young people today.
