I remember joining this organization when it was called "BASC" (BASIC) in 1989. Its influence and leader changed my life spiritually and mentally. The organization helped reconstructed my life from financial planning, jobs and becoming a mother. To be honest, my fondest memory of the group is going to St. Patrick's Cathedral for Christmas Eve mass. That was in the early 1990s. It was an experience I will never forget. Congratulations Rev. Leisa (Cheryl) for 20 years of acheving a dream that became a reality. God Bless and Thank you. Trisha Simon

I remember when we all would go to Lesia house to watch movies, play games & have meetings. those was the good old days (LOL, I sound Like my parents "OLD") Well, I dont want to you bore you all, miss you and cant wait to see you all in May at the Reunion. Wait!!! I Have a question, is it true that we almost got kick of out Six Flags because of Ms. Yolanda("Miss You" smile) and Myself? Refresh my memory cause I dont recall that LOL.
Hi, I am "Ms. Nicole" the one who helped Basic's 1st Summer Program get kicked off, along with the after school program the following winter where I had the pleasure of teaching those bright children through poetry along with tutoring them in other areas; and I just want to say it was a blast, it was my pleasure! The children taught me so much about perservation & endurance amiss difficult circumstances I forgot that I was there to teach them! lol The Step Group, The Choir! it all was truly a blessing & Dco was & is the best, her vision was always plain and single concerning the children the best of the best in creating opportunities of advancement for them and she has never failed. I Love you all! Keep me posted with the success of the program, it does my heart good to hear what God has done! God Bless
Over the years at 1 city Youth Project I was introduced into lots of things and people. People that made me feel that I could be myslef at all times, never needing to put on a front of who I really was. People that at times you wondered what the hect goes through their minds but most importantly people that are caring and giving beyong belief. And led by one of the best directors in this iniverse Doctor Leisa Williams the program helped me grow. It helped me with school when ever I needed it and LIFE most importantly. And of course exposing my talents every moment that I had.ThanKyOu 1 City!!
1City Youth was one of the best programs I was ever apart of for about 4yrs. This program help me develope my great leadership skills. In 1City I was co-captain of the step team, co-captain of the dance team, then captain of dance, and mentors to the junior high school kids(dance choreographer). One rememorable moment that I can recall while being in 1City Youth was the step team preparing for our peformance at madison square gaurden. It was our 1st big performance and it was for the "Jordan Classics". We worked extra hard on our routine and did stomp drills. One thing about 1City that I loved was that we were One big family, but when it came down to business, we became serious at points. When the day came for us to perform at MSG, and we begain to perform and LL Cool J was there. He almost distracted us with his sexy-ness...lol...but we kepted our cool and made it through the perfromance.
