Mission: Thankful Hearts Food Pantry founded in 1993 by Leonard Epling who saw the great need to assist families with great burdens, to provide food and needed items, and to maintain good health to underprivileged children. We currently service approx. 200-250 families with children per month with food, cleaning supplies, grooming supplies, clean clothing, and school supplies. Children in our area are the worst effected by welfare reform. Some children are even left at home alone while mothers are forced to leave them in order to keep food in the home. The children are now in more danger than ever. Mothers are going to severe extremes to give their children a home and food. This pantry is run solely by volunteers, no one is paid. In order to assist the families, we are going to every measure that we can possibly go to make sure no child goes hungry because the welfare reform has forgotten them. God bless you! Since our application we have increased to the unbelievable number, 714 families last month.
