Mission: The texas section (tssrm) is a section of the society for range management (srm). The srm is the professional scientific society and conservation organization whose members are concerned with studying, conserving, managing and sustaining the varied resources of the rangelands which comprise nearly half the land in the world. Established in 1948, srm has over 4,000 members in 48 countries, including many developing nations. The srm is a professional organization composed of individuals with a common interest in the study, management, and rational use of rangelands and related ecosystems. Membership includes those interested in ranching, wildlife biology, hydrology, range conservation and soil conservation. The texas section society for range management envisions healthy, sustainable rangelands. Healthy rangelands provide dynamic, sustainable habitats for a wide variety of plants and animals. Programs: Annual meeting - sponsored the annual meeting in odessa, tx on october 13th 2010 with the theme "opportunities under the western sky: planning, patience & profitability. " approximately 236 people attended. The organization received donated goods and services in the amount of $4,475.
