During 2014 the texas geographic society (txgs) worked on a grant from fema to collect, organize, and distribute geographic data to support hazard mitigation planning in texas. We have a website available that citizens and, local and state government officials can access to identify their exposure to several natural hazards. The web-based services and the data provided on them are all placed in the public domain for use by anyone in the state to improve readiness for hazards, or for education purposes.
