Mission: Texas council on family violence is the only 501(c)3 nonprofit coalition in texas dedicated solely to creating safer communities and freedom from family violence. With a statewide reach and direct local impact, tcfv, with the collective strength of more than 1000 members, shapes public policy, equips service providers, and initiates strategic prevention efforts.
Programs: The support to service providers team assists more than 100 family violence service providers throughout texas in maintaining and enhancing the quality of services to victims including the following: providing staff and board trainings to service providers; organizing conferences and regional/onsite training events; maintaining a resource center; identifying strategies for working with marginalized communities; and providing membership services. The prevention team works to create an environment in texas in which people, organizations and communities act together to stop domestic violence before it starts. Through research, resources, education and prevention-focused advocacy, tcfv supports domestic violence programs.
