TeriSikhi is an non profit religious organization based in California. 26 millions Sikhs live in the northern part of India. A progressive religion well ahead of its time when it was founded over 500 years ago, The Sikh religion today has a following of over 26 million people worldwide and is ranked as the worlds 5th largest religion. Guru Nanak founded Sikhism at Kartarpur. In 1947, Kartarpur went to Pakistani side of the border only at 2 miles from international border town Dera Baba Nanak, Distt. Gurdaspur, Punjab, India. 26 millions Sikhs live under Indian Government rule. Sikhs had their own state before 1947 division between India and Pakistan. Sikhs want access to their foundation. The government of Pakistan has already offered free Access. The government of India has not decided yet. TeriSikhi organization is working to get free access so that Sikhs can visit this Gurudwara (temple). We held event in 2009, around 80,000 people visited on the border.
