My family and son, Jace have been members of Team Mario since 2010. We were looking for an autism group to give Jace opportunities to socialize and, my wife and me to grow our knowledge of people on the spectrum. Jace, Lori, and myself have been actively involved since. Melinda, Lisa, Christine, and Crystal and been welcoming and wonderful. Melinda has a a very compassionate, devoted, and caring team that are dedicated to the children of the Rio Grande Valley with ASD.
Jace has developed several friends and has been on many field trips, social gathering, and events that have been extremely helpful to his growth and development. As a father, I can not express my immense feeling of gratitude and thanks to this wonderful group. God put Team Mario in our path and journey with Jace. We will forever be grateful to Melinda and Team Mario.

Mission: TEAM MARIO is on a mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder through education, resources, and advocacy.
Target demographics: Individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
Geographic areas served: Rio Grande Valley
Programs: Our programs include: Autism Awareness events: Team Mario provides autism awareness through community events and awareness presentations in local schools, businesses and agencies. Education/Advocacy: TEAM MARIO provides educational trainings, workshops and conferences for parents, educators and professionals working with children with special needs. Be Kind to Your Mind Presentations focus on mental health and provide educational presentations to promote awareness, improve mental wellness, teach coping skills, and provide information for available resources. PROJECT PLAY: Social Skills events for young children includes opportunities for inclusion in community recreational activities, summer camps, fitness events and sensory-friendly movies. Technology Resources for children: “Voice for Kids” Campaign assists families with non-verbal children with access to technology to help children communicate. SOAR Program prepares participants to make the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
