Mission: The society's mission is to collect and disseminate state and local historical knowledge. A key component of this is the operation of the wickersham house museum. As a complement, the society hosts eight free public lectures each year, and sponsors publication of historical research findings and other materials. The society obtains federal, state, and local grant monies and contracts in support of historic preservation and cultural resource management, directly administering some grants and assisting in the administration of others.
