I've gone to a few of the Tabor fundraisers and events. They are good about having speakers attend who have been directly impacted by the organization. I ran for Team Tabor in the 5k fundraiser and everyone was friendly and informative. At the Taste of Tabor fundraiser, the food was amazing and the restaurants had some of the kids there at each table as guest chefs. There were two great speakers who were Tabor youth, and a mentor spoke as well. There were a lot of people there who made it very clear that Tabor is the kind of place where lives are changed for the better.
I stumbled upon this incredible organization 12 years ago in the business community while I was networking and trying to build my own business. I found that Tabor employed some of the most dedicated and compassionate employees. I started by volunteering for many events because I grew up in a home with a sister who needed specialty care and was fortunate enough to see how special assistance and programs not only helped my sister but also helped my family to understand her special needs.
12 years later I am now a Trustee and committed to helping this organization to continue to grow and increase the support needed in mentor programs and foster care. That's 2 of many areas that Tabor covers. It's exciting watching success stories happen in child education and that is why I will continue to support my friends and families at Tabor Children's services.

I attended the "Taste of Tabor" fundraising event in Doylestown last May and was fortunate to hear "Caitlin" and Tari" speak about the difference Tabor had made in their lives. They spoke so passionately about Tabor enabling them to get to the next level, to graduate from high school and college. They were both so grateful for the guidance and support they had received . I loved hearing about and sharing their success.
Tabor is pretty awesome because they have all these programs that help kids who are coming out of foster care so we don't just have to figur it all out on our own. That way we don't make some of the same mistakes our parents did. The social workers help make sure we stick to school and can keep up with bills and stuff. They actually care about making sure we do okay.
Like most people, I am very busy all the time. It seems that there is never enough time for anything. Yet, the opportunity to participate in the mentoring program has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met some wonderful new friends and I'm looking forward to doing even more work with this organization. It's really true, when I make myself available and offer to care for others then I find balance, peace and renewed vision in my own life - and, I'm just getting started!
