This place is amazing. It was such an emotional experience. She tells every animals name and story. She puts of herself into these animals. And they are so happy to be there.
T D Donkey rescue helped us find the perfect donkey for our family. The whole experience -from calling and discussing our potential donkey, to visiting the rescue and welcoming our donkey into our home - was pleasant and memorable. Visiting the rescue was amazing in itself. You can tell that all of the donkeys are well taken care of and shown lots of love. I’d highly recommend adopting from this rescue. Even just visiting and showing support of this rescue if you aren’t able to adopt. It’s an amazing experience just to visit.
I have never been so impressed with a rescue operation. Well, maybe Best Friends comes close since they have thousands of acres. T&D is the real deal. Their hearts are huge and their kindness is never ending.
The fields, barns, corrals and care are all top notch. The LOVE that is shared here by DeAnna, the volunteers and the animals Is so precious and beautiful.

I haven’t been able to visit the rescue (I live in NC), but I have followed & supported the various donkeys & horses that came to the rescue. Deanna posts regularly about the medical needs of the equine rescues , their recovery, the emergent & sad cases that come to their attention, & the volunteers & vets that make it all come together. Awesome rescue operation!
I was looking for a mini donk for a companion to the one I had and T&D was recommended to me by friend. I am so glad I made the 2.5 hour trip to meet Deanna and my new little guy. T&D does amazing work, you can tell immediately that Deanna truly cares for the animals in her care. My little guy came completely healthy with vaccinations, teeth & hooves up to date. He was so very friendly & lovable. He fit right in with my family. THANK YOU Deanna.

This is one of the most heartfelt organizations dedicated to improving the lives of the donkeys & other equine, but to really enhance the lives of so many people who are lovingly adopting these great critters.
This rescue is very dear to my heart! The founder is the caring and knowledgeable person ever!! She puts her heart and soul into every donkey or horse that comes thru her door! I’m always amazed with the transformation that these donkeys go thru from terrified and abused to the loving and trusting animals they are!

I met Deanna several years ago before T&D even began. I have been to the rescue and love what they do there. As a donkey owner myself, I loved that these folks were helping to save these kind and gentle animals, rehabbing them, training, vet care and healing the broken...anything the donkeys need! I'm proud to be one of the first members of this wonderful Village. I donate often because it makes me feel good to help. I adopted a little mini gelding from T&D a while back. I named him "Sterling" and he is absolutely perfect. So I am not only a donor, I am also a proud owner as well.
I love the work they do at T&D Donkey Rescue. For the team and volunteers it never seems like work as it’s a labor of love. No donkey or equine for that matter goes without much love and fun. .
From special cases rescued from neglect to taking in a pregnant mama and helping with a tough birth, Deanna and team are there. She’s a remarkable devoted equines angel. I wish more people could be like her.
I have followed this great organisation for a few years now and have been touched and impressed by their dedication to saving, rehabilitating and rehoming donkies.
I fell in love with one of their donkey's, Petal , and my gelding even sent her a love letter lol.

Never would I have dreamed of becoming a follower of a donkey rescue. Like many people donkeys had just never come under my radar. But a friend kept posting stories from t&d. I became captured by white donkey nsmed Champ. He had an incredible medical journey. At this point I began to follow them on facebook. Then came the story of Noodles, a newborn rejected by her momma and fighting for her life. The first thing I did each morning was check for updates. Soon my daughter and I planned a visit. It was a muddy day but we pulled on our muck boots and walked the pastures meeting and being greeted by these magnificent animals. We were amazed how they would gently nudge each other out of the way, vying for our attention. Deanna is a wealth of knowledge not just about donkeys in general but she knew each one by name and related their stories. We became aware of the cruelty of humans and also the generosity of those that fund and love of those that run rescues. We had taken a small donation with us. We felt embarrassed that it was so small in light of the massive expense. But it was accepted graciously and joyously and we never doubted for b.c a second whether ut would be used wisely. If you are looking for a trustworthy charity that will do goid work with your funds this is it.
I have a donkey and have read several books about them but... in saying that you can never know enough-this comes with experience. I have personally called, messaged and emailed T&D with so many questions, they have responded with answers or places to go for answers.
In addition, you can learn how to train your donkey from their “how to” videos on halter training, how to raise feet safely and just understand donkeys better.
T&D is a place that genuinely loves donkeys and wants all humans to be good stewards of our animals. While having specialized doctors make rounds at their shelter to keep the animals in the best possible way, they allow you to schedule an appointment with your donkeys if they need what is offered (small fee required).
They are the best!
I have learned so much from helping at T & D Donkey Rescue. Not just about donkeys but about the caring people that work with the donkeys daily. The love they show these sweet animals that have been let down by others is amazing! It is so good that there is a place for these donkeys to go to be safe.
I followed T&D Rescue for about a year before my husband and I made our first visit. In June 2018 we made the trip and fell in love with this place!! Deanne is so passionate and knowledge about her donkeys, she shares the information with you so that we can be successful and the donkey will have the best life possible!
We adopted our Archie shortly after our visit, he is amazing and is our Little Donkey’s best buddy!
I continue to follow the rescue and have made another visit just to visit, this rescue is truly one of the most beautiful, peaceful places on earth where all the animals are loved and have the absolute best opportunity to heal, learn to trust and find their forever home!
