Causes: Family Services, Human Services
Mission: As the human services arm of the jewish community, sjfs is dedicated to holistic, preventive, wellness-oriented integration of social and human services offered without regard to race or creed to all residents of central new york.
Programs: Care management in 2016-17 served 270 clients. Services included case management, counseling, advocacy, protective services, information, referrals, transportation, personal affairs support (e. G. , bill paying), and education. Between care management and mental health programs, we logged 3,444 home visits and performed psychosocial assessments for 309 clients. Some 17 clients received transportation services.
unique clients in mental health added up to 292. Therapeutic, psychoeducational, and problem solving modalities were used to restore, maintain, and promote the emotional, behavioral, and social functioning of individuals and families. We provided 912 clinical sessions, screened 341 older adults for depression, and completed the in-home provider-based pearls intervention with seven clients. Our early memory loss program served 14 individuals and families and other psychoeducational groups served 192 individuals.
outreach and volunteers provided friendly visiting and meal delivery on a daily or less frequent basis to aged and disabled individuals in their own homes or in institutions where they resided. We served 6,198 meals to individuals. Approximately 100 volunteers, service learners, and interns spent over 5,000 hours visiting the lonely and isolated and providing practical assistance, social contact and stimulation, or supporting institutional and sjfs activities and services.
