Mission: Swope community enterprises is dedicated to provide solutions to improve the physical, behavioral, and economic well-being of individuals, families and communities.
Programs: Sce is a not-for-profit entity organized as a charitable, scientific and educational organization within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and as a supporting organization under section 509(a)(3) of the internal revenue code. Sce is organized exclusively for the support and benefit of, to perform the functions of, or carry out the purposes of swope health services (shs) and swope community builders (scb) and affiliates of such organizations. Effective january 1, 2014, shs and sce completed a corporate restructuring and sce resigned as the sole corporate member of shs. In furtherance of the restructuring, amended and restated articles of incorporation for shs, providing for a self-perpetuating board of directors and eliminating any voting members of the corporation, were filed with the missouri secretary of state. During 2014 sce provided scb funding of $1. 2 million which was used for scb operations and to assist the development division in overcoming problems that have plagued development in the recent economic recession. Sce also assisted scb by refinancing an scb note through its acquisition and extension of the outstanding indebtedness. Sce also provided funding to shs by means of a $347,199 grant based on book value. The grant was comprised of equipment owned by sce and utilized in providing services to member companies prior to sce's reorganization.
