Mission: We envision a world free from the impact of landmines. We seek a world where resources are made available to post conflict societies on the basis of humane, moral, and intellectual rigorous information gathering that comes directly from affected communities. Our vision is best advanced through creative partnerships with national authorities, ngos, un agencies and donors.
Programs: 1 data integration project the goal of this grant is to bring the mine action and development sectors together through identifying gaps in knowledge and understanding and increase the responsiveness of mine action to diverse national stakeholders by making data available to the development and service sector actors in a timely and appropriate format, and to ultimately increase the use of mine action in development planning. The major outcomes of this project are a greater understanding by mine-action planners of the ways development service providers use landmine information; greater understanding in the non-mine action sectors of their own valid need for mine action information to determine their priorities and program design; an inventory of non-mine action actors who potentially need mine action information for the success of their own work; identification of current practices in dealing with such actors with special attention for good practices developed in some countries that could be considered for adoption by others, and recommendations regarding information and tools that mine action authorities could proactively provide to other stakeholders to ensure the most beneficial impact on national development.
