Programs: Scholarships - scholarships are one of the most direct ways a donor can impact the lives of new paltz students and include student financial aid for tuition as well as applied learning opportunities such as study abroad, research, internships and honors that add a margin of excellence to the new paltz student experience. In academic year 2016-2017, 259 students received scholarships from the foundation and twenty-two new annual and endowed scholarships were established to support the college's recruitment and retention efforts.
engineering - hudson valley advanced manufacturing center (hvamc)the hudson valley advanced manufacturing center (hvamc) is the organizational home of the college's ambitious 3d printing program and integrates strengths in engineering, computer science, technology, and the innovation and creativity of the arts. It employs 10 graduate and undergraduate students who are interns at the center. The hvamc has continued to act as a sophisticated 3d print service center for both the campus and community, support academic programs and regional business development. See schedule o for additional information. Division of engineering programsthe engineering used college foundation funds to purchase $435,000 of test equipment from keysight technologies, inc. (keysight) for our newly renovated labs in wooster hall. Included with this was a $207,500 donation from keysight of advanced equipment. The newly renovated labs and the keysight equipment gives us one of the best teaching facilities in the region.
the dorsky - the samuel dorsky museum of art continued its partnership with the college in fiscal year 2017, offering nine well-received and well-attended major exhibitions of contemporary and historical work that received media placements in a number of local and national outlets including: the uk crafts magazine, chronogram, roll magazine online, the american art review, and artnews, among others. Annual attendance at the museum reached 11,356. In addition, the museum presented two seminar room exhibitions of collection artworks as well as six student thesis exhibitions. See schedule o. The dorsky, lead member of the hudson valley visual art collections consortium (hvvacc), continued to expand the web-accessible database that features images and information for more than 7,000 objects from the collections of the dorsky and four other ulster county visual arts organizations-the center for photography at woodstock, woodstock artists association and museum, woodstock byrdcliffe guild and women's studio workshop, mounting an on-line exhibition on the hvvacc website called linking collections, building connections.
