Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy

Programs: Sbsta operates sugar bowl academy, a fully accredited boarding and day school for students in grades 6 through 12. Currently there are 90 students enrolled in the school on a full time basis. The school offers rigorous college preparatory academics combined with a competitive alpine, nordic and freeride ski program for students who want to pursue both athletics and academics at a high level. Academy students regularly compete in ski race events at a regional and national level. Nearly 100% of academy graduates attend a four year college or university and many continue competitive ski racing during their college years. Sugar bowl academy inspires and empowers passionate, highly motivated students, setting the stage for competitive skiers to seek and celebrate challenge with grit, grace, and courage.

sbsta runs a ski team with a membership of over 441 athletes and a staff of over 50 coaches. The age range of ski team members is 4 years old to 21. The ski team offers programs in alpine, freeride, nordic, and backcountry skiing. The ski team operates from november through april and also offers on-snow and off-snow programs in the off season. The ski team supports and develops ski racers at all levels, including those who are interested in competing at a national level or in college. Many ski team athletes successfully compete at regional, national, and international competitions and go on to ski race at division i colleges and universities. Set in a high alpine environment, the sugar bowl ski team lays a foundation for passionate skiers to embrace challenge with grit, grace, and courage.
