StreetWise Partners has helped me reinvent myself, access my skills, and change my weaknesses to strengths. They were essential in helping me learn the skills necessary to adapt to this job market. My son became a fellow soon after. He has referred two of his friends, who are active in the program. My nephew also joined SWP in October 2011. Mission: Streetwise partner's goal is to harness the mentoring resources of the private sector to reduce unemployment within the low income communities of new york city and washington, d. C. Streetwise partners pairs business professionals with mentees who are unemployed in order to provide them with the skills, resources, and access to networks they need to secure and maintain employment.
Programs: Streetwise partners' mentoring model is a proven solution for closing the skills gap, and is unique in that it is structured, curriculum-driven, and outcomes-focused. Streetwise partners provides the kind of customized, individualized attention that job seekers need in order to overcome systemic barriers to employment. In fy17, streetwise partners collaborated with close to 50 corporate partners, 50 community partners and 1000 volunteers to support 300 low-income individuals in new york city and washington d. C. Streetwise partners was successful in launching the organization's first digital mentoring solution which enabled the organization to use algorithmic matching, digitize curriculum, share resources and increase operational efficiency.
