This is one non-profit that has been scrutinized and found true by a lawyer who fights for the children themselves who have been abused. For them only. Not parents. Not perpetrators. For the children themselves. As an avocation. This lawyer is very meticulous about making sure that a group that would support his work is doing it in a real way in real life that is really going to make the changes we so desperately need. Having been a fan of this man for no other reason, his endorsement of it brings me much faith in this organization.
As a Transcender, I have not found one statement by them to be "off" or wrong.
As the mother of yet another survivor of abuse, who intervened and has seen the pay off of proper intervention, I can't recommend supporting this organization enough.
It's not only horrific to think but sad to know that victims of abuse are not only victimized by the offender but then again by our very own Judicial system. Our children do NOT deserve to be punished for being born to an abuser twice. Sometimes more, as the schools and other entities and organizations, that are not educated or care to be educated, are allowing this to happen. Unless you have endured the countless hours, days, and years of the family court system you may not be able to imagine that it is very capable of doing the things you are reading about, and they do it every day, in every State of the United States, This campaign will Stop the courts from continuing to pursue these outdated and biased standards the courts have come to live by and make our children safe, away from the hands of the abuser once and for all. This study and campaign are driven by today's updated and current findings based on the effects of abuse and its effects on our children. Stop the cycle of abuse, stop the family courts from doing more harm to innocent children that cannot speak for themselves and sometimes not allowed to. Help this cause, to help these children and families. There may be a day when you or someone close to you find yourself in the same situation and you wish the laws had changed. You do NOT want to put you and your children through what the family courts will force you to endure if it were to happen to you or your loved one today. These stories are very true, I have been there, and there are countless more that happen in the family courts every single day. Just breaking the cycle of abuse can change so many things, so please find it in your heart to help this organization, which is well educated in the field. Help the judges, lawyers, GAL's, schools, law enforcement etc. become better educated and understand the negative effects that the trauma of abuse takes on a child so you and/or your loved ones may never have to endure what others already have. It's time to STOP ALL ABUSE and it can't happen with one person. No one deserves to be hurt in any way, shape or form and when some children endure this type of treatment, from the actions that resulted from the years of abuse they have endured they, as adults, will continue to repeat the same cycle. For this, we can only blame ourselves, for not doing anything to change the way the system works today. I have been through the "system" I have read the statistics and I see the results of how the current system works today. It is NOT working and based on professionals and current statistics this is a better way. We need change and we need it NOW, for the next generation, for the cycle of Abuse to STOP.
On a mission to prevent trauma the Stop Abuse Campaign is the only one I've found with prevention in mind.
I am very thankful for the hard work that the Stop Abuse campaign does to protect children from abuse. I am proud to support their work for the Safe Child Act and helping spread the critically important message that women and children need to be protected from abusers and exploiters of our legal system.
I appreciate all the attention the Stop Abuse Campaign brings to the issue of family court reform. Their blogs remind me my children are not the only ones who have suffered this trauma”. It need to stop.
This petition is of upmost importance for the future of children in a lot of families as domestic abuse so common. Family courts are forcing kids into high risk situations
The Stop Abuse Campaign has been a consistent force advocating for the lives of children. It is clear that the campaign has a mission that will not be deterred until all of New York's children are protected adequately. They were there when I began my first advocacy campaign to protect women and children from intimate partner stalking five years ago. Today, they are still working as hard as ever. This "action-oriented" team deserves to receive honors.
Stop the Abuse puts a spotlight on Family Court corruption and wrongs, seldom spoken about in most circles.
I found this organization on Facebook, searching for others who are in a similar situation. As a protective mother, victim of DV. I got my kids taken from me, with an order of protection for 14 months. Parental alienation accusations were the only reason. A very good manipulation of the courts, since the only evidence of it was the fathers accusations of the kids not talking a word to him in 5 years of joint physical custody. The kids are suffering terribly. No child should be deprived of a parent or put in the middle. The stop Abuse Campaign is advocating for these kids. Using and encouraging studies to advocate to the courts to stop. I would welcome sharing my story as well as my now adult son, to emphasize that parental deprivation is abuse. Thank you stop Abuse Campaign.
When my contentious divorce began in 2006, I knew I was in for a landslide. I was resourceful and sought out any references or help I could find, and I came upon Women of Lost Children organization and, even though homeless at the time, I managed to attend a conference in Washington DC. I was very very confused and broken at the time from emotional and financial abuse that my husband of 14 years (as we developed a national company together) and his company did onto me. I spiraled down for years because of this emotional abuse. He had tried to take power and control over my life throughout the second half of the marriage, and extended post-divorce, to financial ruin (hidden stock assets actually), until I was jailed (for "harassment" he says - trying to contact my children 'too many times."), homeless for 2 years, committed to a hospital for anxiety (now PTSD). I am now recovering to the point where I am attempting to seek all retributions and obtain fair justice. I wish I this bill would have been available and hope that it will for others in the near future. I support it fully.
The Stop Abuse Campaign uses research driven solutions to prevent and stop abuse in families and our communities. This nonprofit can and will do more to help children in America by education, laws, and ACE score awareness.
I don't even remember how I heard of the Stop Abuse Campaign. Probably on social media or through Barry Goldstein' books. I have gone through a torturous custody battle with a exhusband who was sexually abused as a boy by his half uncle. Learning about this non-profit's outreach to institutions has given me hope that change will come and people in power will see that child abuse, domestic violence and community are intertwined in their states of health, happiness and prosperity. The Quincy Solution is Real and I hope to further their reach by advocating for them in my current hometown of Stockton, Ca. I have friends that wrote a book called The Bullying Antidote, connections to The Women's Coalition International, Jean Shinoda Bolen UN 5WCW and her efforts to heal womankind and humanity. My sister sings in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and I tried to get them to donate but they are committed to Aids support. Domestic Violence and Child Abuse is a plague o n Society. It must STOP. Love to Melanie, Andrew and Barry.
As a parent, I appreciate everything the Stop Abuse Campaign has done to educate me on the signs and impact of abuse. Their fight for new legislation to protect abuse victims is nothing less than heroic.
Thank you Stop Abuse campaign for your hard work and dedication to educate the public and for taking action to make changes for everyone's future.Yet most importantly THE CHILDREN! May God continue to bless these efforts of care and love!
I have worked as a consultant and adviser to many nonprofit organizations over a 30 year period. The Stop Abuse Campaign, in my observation, is uniquely well run, organized, efficient, and mission-focused. And of course, the most important point: the organization prevents and protects children from abuse by educating and informing public awareness and policy. Truly, the Stop Abuse Campaign is doing heroic work, and doing it very well.
The Stop Abuse Campaign works to change and expose the dangerous policies that put children at risk every day across the US. The Campaign's blogs give a voice to parents who've watched their children slip through the cracks of the family court system and/or CPS. My son was forced to endure years of court-ordered abuse and the Stop Abuse Campaign has made me feel so much less alone in this fight. I am grateful for what they do for kids and their protective parents! Please keep it up!
The only non profit working to stop all abuse within 25 years.
