Causes: Sports, Swimming & Other Water Recreation
Mission: To develop, promote & encourage
Programs: Stingrays, inc was organized to promote, advance & grow the sport of swimming, with a view towards developing swimmers of a national & international caliber. Currently, 31 swimmers are competing at the national level and 1 at the international level. To accomplish this objective, during the year stingrays employed full time coaches at 6 different pools as well as part time coaches/instructors and a full time business manager. The coaches provide motivation, instruction and guidance in the sport of seimming to over 450 individuals between the ages of 3 & 18. The team operates on a year round basis, with an indoor season running september through may, and an outdoor season running from june to august. To further promote the sport of swimming, the stingrays organize and host several statewide and regional swim meets which bring swimmers from other state, regional & national teams. In addition, the members participate in meets conducted by other organizations, both within and outside of georgia; provide training clinics for swimmers; coordinate activities with georgia swimming & usa swimming, both of which are non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations.
