Mission: The mission of Stewart County Adult Literacy Program is to promote lifelong learning in Stewart and Houston Counties.
Programs: Many people who need their GED for employment, higher education or training, or simply self-fulfillment are not able to pay the $65 test fee. While the state and Educational Opportunity Center provide vouchers when certain guidelines are met, there are always some that do not qualify yet are able to pass the test. The Literacy Council pays test fees for adult learners who are recommended by the Adult Education Program.
