I’ve volunteered and worked with Miss Abigail for about a year and a half now, and I can say for sure that it has been the most pleasant volunteer experience I’ve ever had. Her energy is so bright and loving; every time I was around her she felt like a mom, so comforting. And the only thing bigger than her smile and her laugh, are her hugs! I genuinely love this woman. But her foundation takes it to a whole other level. We’ve done volunteer work for children and schools, and we also got the chance to learn about real world things. For example, we spent a week on filing taxes, another week on how to buy a home, and another on how to apply for a job (advice I’m using as we speak). And upon arrival to her foundation, I received a gift box and a T-shirt! No words can describe the joy I get from going out with Miss Abigail to Chili’s or Golden Corral to fill up Halloween baskets for kids, or thank you notes to the sponsors.

Mission: Our mission at Steps Foundation, Inc is to empower and improve the quality of life for each individual we meet. We do that through providing life skills workshops, retreats, community networking, and providing scholarships to students.

Programs: Retain Your Brain (our peer support program that includes a student self-care series), Survival Program (life skills and after-school preparation), and Together We Can Program (promoting positive family engagement).
