Caring in Community has a small but long relationship helping the rural poor in Western Massachusetts and worldwide.
Their community projects include free health clinics, health sessions in local schools, teaching of college and post-graduate students in health professions, and a widely successful electronic health record program - CottageMed - which they have distributed freely worldwide for the past ten years.
CottageMed healthcare software is free, open source, cross-platform, and installed in developing countries on every continent (except Antarctica).
Caring in Community began with an incorrect IRS tax-ID number which the IRS replaced with a corrected one.
For this reason the organization is listed twice in guidestar and IRS records because the wrong original tax-ID number was cancelled by the IRS while the correct one continues to support our nonprofit activities worldwide.
