I am highly disappointed with mine and my partner's experience with Star Bright. As a professor and work-from-home photographer with excellent references who have both raised and trained animals all our lives we should have been a shoe-in for adopting Dudley. We met him, loved him and welcomed him into our hearts as we prepared to welcome him into our new home in Macon. For two weeks we communicated with Tina and waited as Dudley recovered from minor surgery. As we prepared to complete the adoption my partner asked a few questions including the possibility of fostering until payday and the necessity of the microchip. Tina, without warning or explanation, emailed saying we would be unable to adopt Dudley. It was only after multiple emails that she explained that it was the asking of questions - my data driven, biologist boyfriend's asking of questions - that drove her to her reactionary decision. We are hurt and frustrated by this situation. I share this incident to encourage shelters and hopeful dog owners to choose any other avenue than organizations that fail to explain policies and procedures and rely on reactionary and immature decision making processes.
