Words alone cannot describe how wonderful this program is. Not only for the students but for the volunteers.
My daughter and I volunteered with Stampede of Dreams this past spring and summer and had an amazing experience. The level of training we received before the program started far exceeded our expectations. We were more than ready and excited once the students began their lessons.
The changes it made in the students lives was immeasurable. Students that began with fear left with smiles and confidence. Having little control over their disabilities and then having control of a 1200 pound horse gives a person a whole different perspective of what they can do over what they cant.
The relationship between my daughter and I improved greatly because together we felt part of a team that was making a difference in peoples lives and in turn it made a difference in ours.
Two of my great-grandchildren attend Stampede of Dreams therapy program. There is no way of putting a value on this in valuable service. It has been so beneficial for them both. They have weak core muscles that have strengthened because of this program. They enjoy it so much, they do not even know they are doing therapy! Thank you so much for your program. Janice Quinn
This is a wonderful program! I have two children that ride here and they couldn't be happier. My non-verbal child becomes verbal to give his horse commands. My other autistic child comes out of his own little world and becomes engaged with his surroundings. They both look forward to their lessons every week. I never have to nag them to get ready. They typically get in the car 15 minutes before we have to leave because they can't wait to get there. The smiles on all the kid's faces is absolutely heart warming and inspiring. The instructors and volunteers are amazing. They are all so dedicated to the cause. Through these caring people, ours kids are given an opportunity to gain confidence, self-esteem, a sense of responsibility. Last but not least, this program gives us parents a chance to sit down, relax, and catch our breath. We all enjoy that one hour that we can step back and watch our kids grow. This program is a true blessing on many different level. I highly recommend it!
My daughter loves going riding every week. She talks about it all week long and cannot wait. I want to thank all the staff from the bottom of my heart. You all are so wonderful and amazing! Thank you for making my child feel important and loved. I would recommend this program to everyone!
As a volunteer of this program, I am able to see children with a range of disabilities benefit from this program. Riders as young as preschool to high school attended lessons weekly. Students who may struggle in the classroom are able to soar on the horses. The warm four-legged therapists give the riders comfort, security, and confidence to complete therapy lessons. This organization provides therapy for all involved. On any given evening at the farm, good things are happening; lives are being enriched one hoof print at a time. The proof is the genuine SMILES that radiate from the faces of those who participate in Stampede of Dreams!
