Mission: The mission is to act as a catalyst to improve the quality of life for williamsburg/greenpoint residents by addressing economic,educational,health,housing and social needs while preserving the vibrant and diverse character of the entire community, particularly for low-and-moderate-income residents. Our most significant accomplishments are in the areas of affordable housing, youth development and workforce development.
Programs: Housing development, management, and support- st. Nicks was able to finance, manage, and support 75 units of affordable housing and sustain 1,100 units for low income people. We supported 500 units for people with special needs including frail, elderly and people with aids, and promoted energy efficency and best practice.
youth and education - st nicks provided 2,500 youths with afterschool and youth development activities.
workforce development - st. Nicks trained 121 people, placed in permament employment 234, and assisted 516 people advance in esl and ged. Elder care-st. Nicks care for 1100 seniors in housing, assisted living, homecare and community center. Civic anchor- st. Nicks saved small world day care center and swinging sixties senior center through purchasing the building.
