Mission: Mission Statement In the pursuit of excellence and compassion in today's global community, Saint Joseph High School calls young men and women to grow in the Gospel values of Jesus. Through worship, academic and extracurricular programs, and service outreach, the school creates an atmosphere in which the honest pursuit of scholarship will enable the students to achieve sanctity and promote justice throughout their lives. SANCTITY We believe that the spiritual and moral formation of students is the priority of all curriculum and program outcomes. Through an understanding of the Gospel message and active participation in Liturgy and prayer, each student is encouraged to grow in relationship with God and neighbor. JUSTICE We believe that our students are called to achieve their highest potential through the pursuit of justice expressed through service to others that will empower students to shape their world and determine the future. HONOR We believe that growth in holiness, respect and knowledge is based on trust and honor. SCHOLARSHIP We believe that the knowledge and skills learned will prepare students to succeed in life, assume leadership in Church and community and contribute to the betterment of family and society. Philosophy Saint Joseph High School is a Catholic School which believes that human beings are created in the image and likeness of God and therefore have inherent individual value and personal worth. This belief creates a well-defined moral structure containing the atmosphere of mutual respect which is necessary to educate the total person in the Catholic tradition-- a tradition which believes that education enlightened by the wisdom of Christian revelation can be fuller, richer and more humane than any other kind of education. Saint Joseph High School exists as a partner to parents, who have the first responsibility for the education of the child, so that adolescents may engage in the process of identity formation, secure in the knowledge that home and school share the same commitment to the Catholic Church and its teachings and to the value of personal responsibility and initiative in all areas of the curriculum. St. Joseph High School provides its students with the opportunity to see themselves and those in the world around them as integral members of the Mystical Body of Christ so that the awareness of the struggles of any portion of mankind will prompt their positive participation in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
