This program has helped over 1900 children over the past 10 years by offering 1000's of hours of one-on-one reading tutoring with the assistance of registered therapy dogs. Parents consistently tell us their children read and love to read more after visiting with the R.E.A.D. dogs. One parent told me not only was her autistic son choosing to pick up books, something he had never done before, but he also was developing a relationship with their own dog - something he had never had. We truly opened doors for that child through the love of a dog.

Sprite's Hero/R.E.A.D is an innovative idea to promote the enjoyment of reading to all age groups. As a teacher, I witnessed a special connection between the reader and dogs that cannot be duplicated. Children bcome excited about learning and sharing what they know to their new friend. A wonderful experience.

It is a privilege to work with this organization. It is also fun seeing children learning to love reading!

Extremely well organized. Immensely educational for the development of children learning and practicing their reading to a dog team without judgment, making each child very comfortable even if they struggle to read the words while petting a dog. I am honored to be a part of this organization!

Sprite's Hero is a great service to kids. Me and my Therapy Dog, Angel, joined 10 years ago and have enjoyed sitting with the kids, in several settings. I wish we had more teams so we could serve every library and school in the area. The feedback from the parents and kids are positive.

Sprites Hero sent a Read Therapy Dog to work with students who have difficulty reading. The children responded beautifully to the dog and to this wonderful program. As a result, the students' confidence and reading ability grew. Such a heartwarming and excellent program!
