Programs: Diversion program - provide western lucas county youth offenders and their parents a 25 hour program over 10 weeks as an alternative to a criminal conviction and penalty. The program requires the youth to maintain academic standards and paticipate in community services. The foundation provided services to 66 youths and their parents this fiscal period. A nominal fee charged to perticipate encourages ownership of the program. Opiate education - produced film entitled "chasing hope: the opioid crisis- and discussion guide. The film educates middle and high school youths about addiction, why risks are so much greater in adolesence and what comes with addiction including incarceration, violence and possible death. The viewer is to reflect on their own coping skills, how they make decisions, and the link between prescribed opioids and heroin. The discussion guide, which is compliant with ohio governor kasich's educational requirements to teach opioid prevention,is designed to open a dialogue between presenters and youth concerning the ideas discussed in the film.
