Mission: To encourage, educate, and equip student-athletes at stanford university to be devoted followers of jesus and to reach their full spiritual potential.
Programs: Jim meets weekly face to face, and via facetime with several present and former stanford athletes along with several members of the next generation of sports mentors who come to him for mentoring. He also attracts leaders from other sports ministries who desire to draw on his five decades of experience in mentoring high performance athletes. Jim provides a personal, private, and safe setting for them to ask any questions with which they may be struggling. The conversations that inevitably occur are kept strictly confidential. No topic or question is off limits to discuss. Jim's book - the power of one-on-one - published by baker books in 2014, has been widely accepted and published in several languages already. The book has allowed many new people to be impacted in a positive way by the proven principles he uses to encourage and challenge individuals. As such, jim has been asked to talk to numerous churches as well as gatherings of christian men. In addition jim was the featured speaker at the christian union staff conference for ivy league universities, teaching them the principles contained in his book - the power of one on one. He also was the featured speaker at an fca breakfast for 300 people in south dakota. While there he trained and consulted with the minnesota and south dakota fca staff on the model he used at stanford.
