Causes: Human Services
Mission: SPOON’s mission is to transform nutrition and feeding practices for children living without permanent families and those with disabilities so they may grow and develop to their full potential.
Target demographics: children living outside of permanent family care and children with disabilities
Geographic areas served: Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the United States
Programs: SPOON provides caregiver trainings and tools specifically designed to accommodate the unique nutrition and feeding needs of children impacted by disability and/or institutional care. We recently developed an app, Count Me In, to help expand our reach to even more sites in the countries where we work. Our tools have been field-tested with clear and compelling results, drastically reducing malnutrition and life-threatening feeding practices in orphanages, foster care and community settings.
