Mission: Spirit of the plains casa, inc. Is a child advocacy program whose volunteers investigate, advocate, negotiate, and monitor "children in need of care" cases through the juvenile court process.
Programs: Spirit os the plains, casa is a group of trained lay volunteers who are appointed by the juvenile court of the 25th judicial district of kansas to represent the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system. The volunteers act as the eyes and ears of the court, investigating the individual case and making recommendations to the court. In 2014 a total of 210 children were served by casa volunteers. These volunteers donated 1700 hours of service, with an additional 820 hours donated by the board of directors, advisory group, project attorney, training speakers, volunteer clerical help and friends of casa for 2520 total hours. At december 31, 2014, there were 58 volunteers donating their services.
