Mission: Further education about the art of fly fishing, ecology, conservation and protection of habitat for fish and fishing.
Programs: Other educational programs and activities. The foundation sponsored classes on making fly fishing rods, tying flies and dry fly fishing on various streams. The foundation in conjunction with sierra pacific flyfishers provided equipment and assistance with the national trout in the classroom projects of the federation of fly fishers. Also, in conjunction with sierra pacific flyfishers the foundation sponsored eleven seminars on fly fishing in various locations.
teaching catch and release fly fishing. The foundation sponsored free casting and fishing classes benefiting 150+ students from the los angeles area. Classroom instruction on fishing techniques and releasing of the fish back to their habitat. Within the same classes of instruction, students were instructed on the stream at piru creek. Additional classes held on stream in various techniques used to catch trout with nymph flies.
promoting outdoor physical activities. In conjunction with sierra pacific flyfishers the foundation promoted outdoor fishing activities at approximately on 24 outings. Locations varied throughout the usa.
protection of the environment. The foundation provided volunteers to help clean and maintain piru creek, a california stream. Workers assisted in the clean up and maintenance of the stream to benefit all users of the stream.
