The organization promotes educating the public about spay/neuter programs to reduce the over-population of unwanted dogs and cats.
southside spca operates a thrift store, called tail waggers, which is devoted to supporting the organization through the sale of goods donated by volunteers and supporters. In addition to supporting the shelter, tail waggers helps those in the community purchase items they could oterhwise not afford and presents the opportunity to educate the public about the organization's shelter and its missions.
