Causes: Arts & Culture, Opera
Mission: To encourage the enjoyment and participation in opera and musical theatre.
Programs: Presentations of elementary through high school musical assemblies, concerts, and hands-on workshops encouraging the enjoyment and understanding of musical theater and opera. There were 6 musical assemblies for audiences aggregating 1,000 and 511 workshop sessions for 863 participants (including both mainstream and special needs students)and performed before audiences of 2,500. Sites where workshops were held included juvenile detention facilities, special education sites, afterschool gang prevention programs, school classrooms, and at the warner grand theatre in san pedro, ca. A concert was done at the city of newport beach civic center as part of their "concerts on the green" series to an audience of 1,000.
